| Howler Signs Bartleberry Jones!
Born in French Guyana on November 18, 1978, Bartleberry Jones moved to Crete, Indiana in 1996 and took a job managing a Winn Dixie franchise after being fired as gym coach at a local high school for reasons that remain sealed in court. He briefly managed a local speed metal band called Ice Princess, but when the band attained commercial success and signed to a major label they quickly fired Jones in an ugly legal dispute. In 2001 Jones moved to Sulawesi, Indonesia and was elected regent of a small mountain community in 2003. His rule is reportedly ruthless and he is rumored to practice an odd Southeast Asian version of Santeria. He is known to listen obsessively to Whitesnake, and has built a floating high tech recording studio where he disappears for weeks at a time.
Bartleberry Jones' eponymous 3 song single will be released on May 13, in digital form only. |

| NEW ALICE DONUT VIDEO!!!
Alice Donut just released a nearly 8 minute long animated video for the track "Madonna's Bombing Sarejevo" off of their new album, Fuzz. Created by Paul Roman / Plague Doctor Studios (who also made the video for "Cost" from 2004's Three Sisters), the video is not very likely to make it onto MTV or anywhere else with any sort of corporate interest. Or religious upbringing. Or weak stomach.
You can either download from MadBombHWL (low res), view the My Space version at MadBombMS (lower res), or view the You Tube version at MadBombYT (lowest res). If anyone has Madonna's email address, can you send her a copy please? |

| Happy Howl-a-Ween at CMJ 2006
It's that time of year again, when ghouls, vampires and other demonic entities emerge from their dark abodes and descend upon our city in frightening hordes; that's right, its CMJ, so say your prayers and wear that garlic, because things are about to get scary around here! On Thursday, Nov 2nd, Howler Records will be hosting its annual Marathon showcase at Club Midway, 25 Ave B. between 1st and 2nd Sts. Playing that night will be two aptly, evil-named bands for the occasion: newest Howler act MONSTROUS, as well as old hands Bad Wizard. How's that for keeping the Halloween theme intact? Even our company name and logo are creepy! Filling in for our boys zZz, who were deemed just too damned horrific to be let back in the country, are our good friends The Family Township. No, not a scary name per se, but they are from Gothic, chilling Boston, and more importantly they rock so hard they might make your hair stand on end! Sharing the night with us will be the fine folks from Gern Blandsten Records, with Victory At Sea, The Flesh and Rye Coalition all scheduled to play (well at least one creepy band name there). Try to make it all you little spooks and witches ... it's gonna be fucking gruesome! |
